“Why else does one write or paint, except to try to hold a little of that memory?” — Sybille Bedford

My paintings mostly are completed in one sitting, alla prima, because I enjoy the spontaneity in my paintings. Also, my paintings mostly are of subjects that are overlooked because they do not seem inspirational.

I am resolved that inspiration and beauty do not have to be found in faraway places; instead, they are just outside my doorsteps. When I step outside to paint, I will have walked only a few blocks from my studio. I will soon setup to paint, and the site will gradually reveal itself.
